The Glory of Angarki Sankashti Chaturthi

May the uplifting katha of Bhakta Angaraka, the son of Maharishi Bharadwaj and Bhumi Mata, who was blessed by Lord Ganesha his lord and master, turn our hearts towards the one-tusked darling of Mata Parvati's heart who clears all obstacles.

This this the day on which Lord Ganesha honored his devotee Angaraka by announcing that anyone who prayed to the Lord and fasted on the fourth day of the krishna paksha, a Tuesday, would have all his desires fulfilled. The Lord also said that henceforth this Sankashti Chaturthi would forever be known as Angaraki Chaturthi. It is also known as Sankata Hara Chaturthi. Whoever prays to Lord Ganesha on this day attains to success in all auspicious undertakings!

Bhakta Angaraka ki jai! Om Gam Ganpataye Namah!
