A Mahalaxmi temple covered in Gold

 Sripuram

Spread over 100 acres in Malaikodi, Vellore, in Tamilnadu, the Sripuram or City of Lakshmi is designed in the form of a Sri Yantram with the Lakshmi Narayani temple covered in dazzling gold at its centre. The Devi herself inspired Sri Sakthi Amma or Nayarani Amma, a spiritual guru, to create the extremely powerful temple that worships Mata Lakshmi as the all pervading supreme power.

The gold for the temple was brought in loads at the temple, and shaped into sheets before being used to cover the entire temple, which presents a dazzling sight in the sun and at night when it shines in special lighting in all its glory.

Mata Lakshmi Narayani has the power to grant abundance in the lives of her devotees. Devotees who have had darshan of the divine mother of Sripuram attest to her wonderful powers!

May Mata Lakshmi Narayani, the supreme power whose nature expresses itself as abundance and nourishment grant us compassion, love and discrimination. Jai Mata Di!

How Devi Kamakhya of Assam made Germany her home

The town of Hamm is home to one of Europe's largest Hindu temple. Tens of thousands of worshippers come here for important religious celebrations close to a busy highway. The temple, which is also popular with worshipers from Belgium and the Netherlands, was founded by Tamil refugees when they came to Germany in the 1980s.

The temple was built by Tamil Hindus from Sri Lanka who were fleeing the civil war in the country. The powerful deity in the temple is Kamakshi Mata who is also known as Kamakhya and worshiped by Tantrics and Shaktas of India, Bangladesh, Nepal and Pakistan.

May Mata Kamakshi of Hamm, Germany, bless all beings with discrimination, compassion and love for all beings! Jai Mata Kamakshi! Har Har Mahadev!

Powerful Lord Hanuman temple in Ashoka Vatika, Sri Lanka

We wish all devotees of Shri Sita-Rama and a blessed Hanuman Jayanti!

Lord Hanuman is present at every place where the glory of Lord Rama is sung. Not surprisingly, he is also present at the spot in Sri Lanka where Mata Sita was kept by Ravana, the demon king. A Hindu temple called "Seeta Kovil" or Hanuman Kovil marks the spot where Lord Hanuman first contacted Mata Sita in Ashoka Vatika.

The temple is located near the city of Nuwara Eliya and is revered by local Hindus. Where there is Mata Sita, Lord Maryada Purshottam Rama is also present and where there is Lord Rama, can his servant Hanuman be far behind. Now wonder Valmiki's Ramayan advises devotees to "Bow down to Hanumān, who is the slayer of demons, and who is present with head bowed and eyes full of flowing tears wherever the glory of Rama is sung."

May Lord Hanuman of Sita Kovil of Sri Lanka bless us with devotion for the lotus feet of Lord Rama who alone is the refuge of the universe!

Jai Mata Kadeshwari Bhairavi Bandra waali!

Exact dates of when Mata Kadeshwari manifested herself on a rock in swayambhu form near Bandra fort in Mumbai are difficult to come by but her temple is said to have received worship for at least 300 years. The temple is highly popular among local Hindus especially among students who troop to the temple before important exams.

Mata Kadeshwari is is a manifestation of Mata Bhairavi the consort of Lord Kaal Bhairav and has the power to cast away fear from the hearts of her devotees and grant them courage which is a must before one embarks on any adventure.

The swayambhu murti is extremely powerful and its energy can be felt by those who approach the murti. The temple was recently renovated and has adequate space for bhajan-kirtans and satsang.

The temple is located near the famous Mount Mary Church in Bandra (West) where a fair is held every year.

Radhe Maa - Lord Shiva amazing miracle in America

Satguru Sivaya Subramuniyaswami, a Hindu swami of American origin, scholar and renowned defender of the Hindu paramparas, dreamt of Lord Shiva. The lord was walking on the land in Hawai, USA, on which Satguru made a sankalpa to construct a grand temple to Lord Shiva.

Satguru, a staunch follower of of the Shaiva Agama shastras, decided that the temple would be built by hand and would be so strong that it would last 1,000 years. Designed by Dr. V. Ganapati Sthapati in the 1980s, the 3,000-plus blocks of granite were carved in Bangalore, and to the site in Kauai, Hawai, USA. The 32 crore temple is expected to be completed by 2017 when it will be inaugurated with a kumbha abhishekam.

The Shivalinga in the temple appeared simultaneously in Sadguru and a local crystal dealer's dreams. The crystal dealer traveled to Arkansas where he expected to find the spatika linga. The 50-million-year-old sphatika linga was found covered in mud in a mine. It was brought duly to Kauai in 1987.

May the ever compassionate Lord Shiva with a body as white as jasmine bless all beings with his gentle smile!

For the glory of Lord Rama - Shri Radhe Maa

Guru Maa accepted invitation of citizens of Mukerian to participate in the annual Shobha Yatra on Rama Navami on April 8

Rama Navami, which falls on Tuesday, April 8 this year, marks the birth of Lord Rama to Dashratha and Queen Kaushalya of Ayodhya.

Temples across India mark the day with feasts, flower offerings and festivity. Mamtamai Shri Radhe Guru Maa, a guru in the Sanatan Hindu tradition, has a special connection to Mukerian in Punjab as she spend a good part of her early life there. It is also the place where she was first drawn to the spiritual life.

Mamtamai Shri Radhe Guru Maa honors Hanuman who is the ideal for all who aim to become closer to God through the path of seva, which is bhakti in action. Guru Maa has said, "Lord Hanuman exemplifies all that as bhakta should be. All he thinks, speaks and does is in service of Lord Rama. May we be guided by Lord Hanuman's example to the lotus feet of Shri Rama."

Every year on Rama Navami, citizens of Mukerian organise a great Shobha Yatra, - in which spiritual leaders of various Hindu sampradayas are honoured. These saints, teachers and monks are invited to join in the procession through the city that also features decorated idols of Hindu dieties like Brahma-Vishnu-Mahesh and Ganapati and Mata Rani. The beautiful pujas, yagyas and ceremonies attract thousands of devotees from across Punjab and other parts of India.

Mamtamai Shri Radhe Guru Maa's devotees have been inviting her to Mukerian on Rama Navami to seek her blessings and guidance. This year, Guru Maa is scheduled to be in Mukerian and is also expected to honor request of devotees to join the annual Shobha Yatra so that the increasing number of devotees in Mukerian can benefit from her darshan.

Happy Gudhi Padwa

Wish you a very happy Gudi Padva, the festival of many names!

Gudi Padva is Marathi for Chaitra Shukla Pratipada in the Hindu calendar. It marks the start of Vasant Ritu or the season of spring, a time for flowers, fruits and ripening of crops. Hindu Kokanis know Gudi Padva as Samvatsar Padvo, Telegu-speaking Hindus of Andhra pradesh call it Ugadi and the Kashmiri Pandits call Gudi Padva Navreh. The Kannadigas from Karnataka call this auspicious festival Yugadi and the Sindhis call it Cheti Chand.

We wish all Hindus spread across the world a very happy Chaitra Shukla Pratipada! Jai Mata Di!
