Mumbai
is home to lakhs of Uttarakhandis many of whom migrated for a better
living standard and thought they would return after a few years but
after they grew new roots in Mumbai they became a part of the rich
cultural tapestry of the city.
Inspire somewhat by nostalgia for the hills and also
driven by devotion to Lord Badri Narayan, they have begun construction
of a grand Badrinath temple at Vasai in the Mumbai Metropolitan region.
The bhoomi poojan is done and the work is expected to be completed in
over a year and a half.
The plan for the temple has been passed by the local authority and the temple will soon be opened to devotees.
