Famous
Hollywoood Actress Julia Roberts revealed in an interview to Elle
magazine in 2010 that she is a Hindu. Roberts was first drawn to
Hinduism after her eyes rested on a picture of Neem Karoli Baba
(Maharaj-ji), which made her study the religion, its beliefs and
philosophy in some detail.
The Academy Award winner actress has starred in several blockbusters like Steel
Magnolias (1989) Pretty Woman, Erin Brockovich (2000), Mystic Pizza
(1988), The Pelican Brief (1993), My Best Friend's Wedding (1997),
Notting Hill (1999), and Runaway Bride among others.
Roberts
went on to formally embrace Hinduism in a ceremony and also accepted
Hindu names for her children: Hazel became Laxmi, Phinnaeus became
Ganesh and Henry became Krishna Balram.
