Shri Radhe Maa Trust organizes Anup Jalota concert in old age home

Photo: Mamtamai Shri Radhe Guru Maa Charitable Trust to hold a Bhajan Sandhya for residents of Aadhar Old Age Home, Borivali (East) by Padmashri Anup Jalota ji on Wednesday 31st July 2013.
The event is in line with Shri Guru Maa’s teachings to take spirituality beyond the temple and turn it into seva for the benefit of all beings.

In the autumn of their lives, the residents of Aadhar Old Age Home take each day as it comes. Battered by failing health, weakening memory and a deep sense of loss from being abandoned by the very families they help build, these superstars have not forgotten to smile. On Wednesday 31st July, 2013, from 6pm to 7pm,  Mamtamai Shri Radhe Guru Maa Charitable Trust plans to give the residents a fresh reason to cheer.

Bhajan Samrat Padmashri shri Anup Jalota ji will perform in a Bhajan Sandhya organized by the trust exclusively for the residents of Aadhar. Mr Jalota is expected to sing several evergreen classics like ‘Aisi Lagi Lagan’, ‘Chahe Krishna Kaho yaa Raam’ and ‘Rang De Chunariya’ along with newer compositions for the residents of the old age home who number over 125.

The institution mostly houses senior citizens abandoned by their families, and includes couples. Mamtamai Shri Radhe Guru Maa Charitable Trust has been associated with Aadhar Old Age Home for the last 10 years. The trust’s social work initiatives are inspired by Shri Radhe Guru Maa’s teachings that ask devotees to go beyond the temple and engage in good works for the benefit of all beings.

Sanjeev Gupta, a devotee of Mamtamai Shri Radhe Guru Maa and a member of the trust, which handles the entire gamut of social service initiatives of the Hindu guru that includes women’s empowerment programs, health camps, blood donations, support to schools for students of limited means, orphanages, old age homes, gaushalas and temples, said, “Our trust supports various institutions like Aadhar with food grains & snacks, Free Medical – Dental, Food, Heart checkup, free cataract operation, medicines, distribution of sewing machine, laptops, stationery, also clothes distribution. We also organise pilgrimages for old age home residents to spiritual locations nearby. However, we believe that it is not enough to feed, clothe and care for the body. The heart and soul also require nourishment. It is equally important to address one's spiritual longing. Which is why we routinely organize bhajan sandhyas in old age homes,” Mr Gupta said.

“Guru Maa says that Narayana resides in all hearts. We are happy that Aadhar Old Age Home has given us an opportunity to serve the senior citizens and through them helped us to serve guru and God,” he added.

One may also volunteer in Mamtamai Shri Radhe Guru Maa’s social initiatives that include book donation drives, blood donation drives and heart – check up campaigns. Contact Shri Radhe Maa’s sevadar on +91 98200 82849 or email on admin@radhemaa.com to participate in the charitable efforts.

God gives us opportunity to serve him by serving humanity

Under Mamtamai Shri Radhe Guru Maa’s guidelines, Mamtamai Shri Radhe Guru Maa Charitable Trust has organized an Ann Daan (Food Grains - Rice, Wheat, cooking oil, pulses, etc) programme on 25 July, 2013 at Bal Bhavan - Girl Orphanage and Jeevan Asha - Old age home,  Andheri West, Mumbai. The Ann Daan initiative, which includes donations of food grains, sweets, snacks and cooking oil, is being undertaken for the last 10 years. Beneficiaries of the program include schools, orphanages, old age homes, and institutions for people with special needs.

The event which is scheduled to be held at 3:30 pm will include an appearance by Award Winning Bollywood Singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya.

Mamtamai Shri Radhe Guru Maa says that true devotees of Shri Hari do not confine themselves to the temple.

They utilize the strength the chanting of the divine name gives them and employ it to make the world a better place. Guru Maa says what we give and the attitude with which we give reveals more about our spiritual state than the hours we spend praying. She adds that it is our duty to serve God in the bodies of all beings by feeding them, clothing them, and giving them medical care.

Sevadar Shri Sanjeev Gupta says, “I thank all the devotees, who came forward and donated needed stuff. I  specially thank MM Mithaiwala for supporting our todays’ Ann Daan initiative.  I would to  invite all the devotees to volunteer their services for Mamtamai Shri Radhe Guru Maa Charitable Trust’s noble cause”

Guru Purnima- Day of the liberating light

Shri Radhe Guru Maa - Guru Purnima

Guru Purnima is a day to honor our Gurus because it is also the day that Lord Mahavira, Lord Buddha, Veda Vyasa and the Adi Guru Lord Shiva first assumed the responsibility of imparting the knowledge of liberation

The Guru opens the door to the kingdom of liberation to the seeker. The guru is the master physician who possesses the magical ointment that opens the seekers eye to the truth. Service to the guru’s feet turns the desire of the seeker for liberation into a raging fire that burns away all attachments that bind him to the material world. The Guru is verily Parabrahman – the Supreme Soul.

In the Hindu tradition, the Guru Poornima is a day of honouring Veda Vyasa, the author of Mahabharata, who is among the greatest teachers of mankind. It also marks the day on which Shiva, the Adi Guru, imparted the secret of Yoga to his disciples the Sapta Rishis or the ‘Seven Wise Ones’. The day is important because it is through this knowledge that humans though bound by virtue of being embodied, can through walking the path of Yoga, become free from the Samsara, which is the state of being tied to the binary of pleasure-pain. Such a person who is drawn to that which brings pleasure and avoids that which brings pain is forever deluded that he is the body. The Guru is the one who rids one of this illusion. Guru Poornima marks the day this transcendental knowledge was handed to mankind. The day also commemorates the day on which the Buddha gave his first sermon, as it does the day Lord Mahavira accepted his first disciple after attaining Kaivalya.

Mamtamai Shri Radhe Guru Maa is honoured as a guru by lakhs of her followers. For the most part Guru Maa follows the path of the silent masters who instruct and guide without speaking a word. She does, however, speak on some occasions. And on one such occasion she has said that an imparter of knowledge – a Guru – should be worshipped as God Himself.

May the Adi Guru Shiva bless us with the desire for service to the Guru’s feet that have been described as the ‘nauka’ or boat that helps the disciple cross the ‘samsaar sagar’ or ocean of suffering.

A very happy Guru Purnima to you.

Mamtamai Shri Radhe Maa donates sewing machines to women

Mamtamai Shri Radhe Guru Maa has always believed and practiced bhakti to God through service to the world. Over the years she and her team have undertaken various initiatives for the welfare of the underprivileged sections of society. Recently the Sanatan Hindu Guru provided sewing machines to the needy.

Shri Radhe Maa’s followers inaugurated the opening phase of this initiative by distributing the very first batch of sewing machines on Sunday, 21st of April 2013 in Mukerain, Punjab. The initiative is expected to benefit scores of women across India and help them generate supplementary income for their families through self-employment.

The initiative is one of many based on Shri Radhe Maaji's teaching "Karam hi Pradhaan Hai". The focus of the initiatives are needy widows and other women of limited means.

The sewing machines were distributed keeping in mind the fact that Shri Radhe Maa herself had at one point in her life provided training of tailoring to girls from families that wanted to supplement their monthly incomes.

People were very happy on receiving the machines. Most of the initiatives undertaken by Mamtamai Shri Radhe Guru Maa are free. They are offered to all who are in need without discrimination. Shri Radhe Maa is a guru in the Sanatan Hindu tradition. She stands tall as a bhakta who serves God through service to society.
