Shri Radhe Maa - Leela-Amrut - Three frauds and an honest devotee

Shri Radhe Maa - Vachan Amrut

How an honest banker was pulled from the quicksand of disaster by Devi Maa’s grace

By Sanjeev Gupta

Madhukar Nayar’s story: Madhukar Nayar started his career as a peon in a bank. Over the years, thanks to his honesty and hard work he rose to become assistant branch manager. His colleagues, friends and relatives looked up to him as a model of honesty and good conduct. He was well-respected by one and all.
Then, tragedy struck.

A Rs 2.7 million scam came to light at the bank. The enquiry committee that was formed to probe the fraud cast a shadow of doubt on Madhukar. The man had not imagined that the reputation he had built with care in his 33 years would be tarnished in a single stroke. After he was suspended, Madhukar sensed that people were saying all kinds of things behind his back. His friends and relatives began to distance themselves from him. He had health issues earlier, which worsened with the sad turn of events in his life.

At this stage, Madhukar learnt about Mamtamai Shri Radhe Maa’s darbar. He paid his respects at one chowki and then another. On the day that followed the seventh chowki, the scam was exposed for what it was. The culprits – a cashier, a clerk and a customer – were arrested. All three admitted to their guilt. The cloud of suspicion that had hung over Madhukar Nayar cleared. It became clear to all that he had suffered for no fault of his. The bank sent him an apology letter and asked him to resume duty not as assistant bank manager but as bank manager. He had been promoted.

Devi Maa’s leela taught Madhukar an important lesson in the power of unquestioning surrender and seva.
